This Sunday Afternoon I give you another of my Favorite Philly Bands Dandelion with an album title fitting to how my PC feels – SICK! I’m unsure how much music sharing I will be doing in the near future due to my 7plus year old PC is feeling under the weather. No diagnosis has been made but at this point I can’t even get past a boot up screen that tells me I have a Windows corruption; leaving me & the Devil without our much needed vinyl upload software plus a multitude of Photos and Music. There was a possible light at the end of the tunnel seen by My Childhood friend, she was able to retrieve our music & Photo files this weekend while I was sitting on the beach. The hope is starting over with a fresh clean slate hard drive wise.
I’m sure ya’ll maybe tired of me stating this album or that album is another Repeat Listen but this one is for sure. Over the years I’ve actually had to replace the CD a few times due to over listen abuse – this is copy #3!!! I could go through the dance again about seeing em live a ton of times at all the local spots when I was barely legal but instead read below & listen………
This is their 1st full length release on Ruff House records in 93′
all info and Photos taken directly from their Myspace

“Philadelphia’s Dandelion might best be remembered as poster children for the underground/popular music clash of the early 90s, rising as they did in the era that saw a shift in the red-blooded hard rock dynamic from long-haired metal to shorn grunge leftovers purveyed by countless hordes of candidates caught up in the major label search for the next Nirvana.
Forming Dandelion in 1989, singer/guitarist Kevin Morpurgo, guitarist Carl Hinds, drummer Dante Cimino and bassist Mike Morpurgo established themselves as local champions of the heavy neo-psychedelic sound. Corralling like-minded outfits like Trip 66 into their loud corner helped develop a scene, which eventually attracted the attention of Ruffhouse, a label based in nearby Conshohocken, and home to The Goats, Cypresshill,Schooly D and the Fugees. “I Think Im Gonna Be Sick” has a sound as aggressively grating as the cover’s scrawled titling. The songs parlay the angst of social frustration (Waitin for a Ridedamn those so-called friends), confusion (Outside, with a hearty dose of agnostic cynicism), and loneliness (In My Room, which inadvertently rewrites Brian Wilsons classic for the alternative nation). In a heady stew of Alice in Chains grind and Mudhoney dirge (albeit minus the latters humor), sludgy, cumbersome riffs provide visceral thrills, but also a prevailing sonic monotony. The group put a live take (more straightforward than versions by the Damned and Redd Kross) on the Rolling Stones Citadel on a B-side of the time, which hinted at a possible source of the bands name namely the Stones trippy love-era Dandelion.”

I was never really all “that big” of a fan of these guys. Kinda redundant. They give me that “Wallflowers” feelings, but not AS gay!…
I guess I am just going to post a video tonight.
Divshare is making me mad.

Kind of Nude Swirly. And as a proper NJ man I prefer them. Does Sandy have a Blog? and if so is it all Dio all the time???

I just pulled out this cd and listened to it a few times last week. I loved this cd back when it first came out and I still love it today.
