Since the Devil and Dk both have given us some Hendrix in days past ~ This Darkness filled Tuesday Morning I give you Mr Noel Redding’s Fat Mattress the S/T LP released in 69′.
This was a Noel Redding’s Post-Hendrix project with Him playing guitar not bass along with the rhythm section of Englebert Humperdinck’s band. Actually Noel was a Guitar player not a bass Player. He stumbled upon been a member of the “Experience” almost in error; He went on an audition for Eric Burdon of the Animals. He was the 1st to join Jimi and was the 1st to leave the band.
This album is nothing at all similar to the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Its a Dreamy, Folkish, soft-psych LP very differant from the crazy guitar ~ hard blues of “the Experience” we all know and love.

Enjoy the Cuts Please & Thank-You
“All Night Drinker”
“Everything Blue”
“I Dont Mind”
“How can I Live”

The Sun is slowly coming up here in Philadelphia, It will be a very busy week for me filled with a little Rock&Roll Show Tonight @ Johnny/Brenda’s J.Mascis of Dinosaur Jr band Witch, Recording diggin Early Saturday in the jersey then off to “Split the Skull” my most favorite pre-easter barley wine fest. I am also the cooker of Easter dinner. Plus work, work, yoga and Pilates in between. So dont look for any Repeat Listens or coffee rambles here till next week

Please to allow me to throw my hat in the ring with Noel Redding’s ROAD from 1972:
http://crotchbat.blogspot.com/2006/09/road-1972.html
“Former Jimi Hendrix Experience bass player Noel Redding banded together with Rod Richards (Rare Earth) and Leslie Sampson to form Road, a post Hendrix psychedelic rock band with plenty of oomph and loads of wah-wah pedal for all the guitar freaks to enjoy.”
Thanks for the Fat Mattress post!
